Just home from the Skoda Motorsport debut at New Zealand, Ole Christian sets his eyes on Rally Sørland. – Im expecting the competition there to be on the same level as last weekend, he says!
Ole Christian impressed last weekend when he secured second at the opening event of the 2017 Asian Pacific Rally Championship at New Zealand. This weekend he will compete in the Norwegian Rally Championship in the EVEN management Skoda Fabia R5 together with co-driver Stig Rune Skjærmoen.
– It’s been quite a busy week, travelling from one side of the earth to another. I’m not completely back on Norwegian time yet, but I’m sure it’ll be fine. The last weeks have been an adventure, and I feel I made good progress on gravel at New Zealand, Ole says.
After competing at 2 of 3 events in the Norwegian Championship this year, he is currently second in the driver standings, just behind Eyvind Brynhildsen.
– I’m expecting the competition to be at the same tough level as in New Zealand. Rally Sørland is probably the most challenging gravel event in the Norwegian championship and it’s famous for it’s rugged exposed crags. You need to stay on the road, if not you’re in trouble, Ole Christian explains.
The rally takes place in the very south of Norway, just outside Kristiansand, and gets underway from Saturday morning, featuring 11 stages and a total of 154kms.
