“It feels really good to be joining Hyundai Motorsport. I think we are going to be a very competitive team. I can’t wait to get started. It’s no secret that the goal is always to be on the top step; I think we have the potential to be that strong, and to do really well together as a team. I also hope the experience I have picked up from a lot of different R5 cars will be valuable for the development of the i20 R5.”
The 23-year-old from Kongsvinger in Norway competed in the WRC2-category in 2019, and claimed a strong victory at the seasons Rally Sweden, as well as a podium at Rallye Monte-Carlo. After winning 4 of 5 events in the Norwegian Championship he also took home the Drivers Title in the Norwegian Rally Championship.
Roy Snellingen, Sporting Director, Even Management AS:
“Even Management are extremely happy that Ole Christian and Jonas gets this opportunity in a market where there are many strong drivers available. We strongly believe we now have a strong package with a lot of driving which is important for further development. We will now work systematically and make the most out of their experience combined with all the new possibilities.”
The first event will be the snow and ice-covered stages of the epic Rallye Monte-Carlo, which takes place in the French Alps January 23 – 26th.
