– I feel more confident this year
Ole Christians second season in the FIA World Rallycross Championship kicks off on Saturday 3rd of June.
Last year Ole Christian made the transition from rally to rallycross, first competing in RallyX Nordic and Nitro Rallycross before signing for Swedish team Kristoffersson Motorsport (KMS) for the new electric era in the FIA World Rallycross Championship.
Ole Christian started the season well, and was P2 in the overall standings for a long time before struggling with the car for several rounds. He ended up with five podiums and P4 overall.
After driving a lot of rallies this winter, and two competitions in RallyX Nordic he feels ready for the season opener in Montalegre this weekend.
– Last year a lot was new for me. Especially the transition from rally to rallycross, and also competing on the highest level in rallycross with a lot of fast and smart competitors, he says.
Ole Christian is close friend and teammate with fellow Even athlete, Johan Kristoffersson. The swede is the rallycross goat winning the title five times. Working closely with him has gaining OC valuable experience.
– This year I feel a lot more confident than last year. I know that I have the speed to fight for podiums, and personally I really want to get my first win in WRX. Not gonna be easy of course, but I’ll try my best, he says.
Veiby has worked with KMS on and off for many years, but last year was the first time they did a full rallycross season together.
– Coming back to the paddock with this team, I feel like home. It’s an amazing team with a lot of skilled, hardworking and nice people. These guys have worked flat out during the winter to get the car even better.
The teams goal for this season is clear: Repeat last year and win both team and drivers championship.
Saturday it all kicks off!
